Complex and full bodied, with very generous, sweetish fruit but so much going on – hints of Gelber Muskateller’s aromatics, some spicy Riesling notes and loads of texture and saline freshness. A soupcon more acidity would have been welcome, but Read more
Fasincating to compare this reading of Heligenstein, made from Riesling trained using the lyre system, instead of Guyot. The same soil, the same vines, but here the fruit dominates the palate and is much more expressive. Mouthwatering acids and a Read more
Perfumed on the nose, with flower petals and a hint of honeycomb. Tight and focused palate, with nervy citrus acids and a long, slatey finish. The drive and definition are impressive, again this is a wine to age for year Read more

Fruit forward, with mango and canteloupe melon characters. A ripe style but with enough freshness and juiciness to retain balance. I wouldn’t necessarily age this but it’s pleasant to drink now.
Interesting comparison with Schloss Gobelsburg’s Grüner from the same vineyards. This is more vegetal, with typical green pepper (capsicum) notes and orchard fruits. A little nip of salt on the finish, and some herbal tinges on the nose. Fairly straightforward Read more
