Cortém – Cabernet Franc Petite Syrah 2016

by Simon J Woolf

Simon J Woolf 02/02/2021

Cortém - Cabernet Franc Petite Syrah 2016
Producer: Cortém
Wine name: Cabernet Franc Petite Syrah
year: 2016
Varieties: Cabernet Franc, Petite Syrah
country: Portugal
region: Lisboa
style: Red
certification: Organic
ABV: 13.5

Fascinating blend here, with plenty of lift from the Cab Franc, which also lends a bit of its softer, velvety texture to the proceedings. The fruit is spicy, with crushed black berries. There’s a purity to the fruit, yet plenty of structure here too.
Just entering its drinking potential, this is a wine that can easily age for another 5-10 years.
