Sa Defenza – Tresbingias 2017

by Simon J Woolf

Simon J Woolf 18/01/2021

Sa Defenza - Tresbingias 2017
Producer: Sa Defenza
Wine name: Tresbingias
year: 2017
Varieties: Bovale Sardo, Cannonau
country: Italy
region: Sardinia
style: Red
ABV: 15.0
event:

A big wine from Sardinia, which has superb freshness and a salty drive on the palate. The nose will test your appreciation of acetone, but the palate is so exciting, concentrated but mineral that it’s worth sticking around.
This was made with no oak at all, so the fruit really expresses everything it has to give – slightly pruney, but with fresher red fruits too. And the tannins are crunchy and satisfying as hell. One to age, and hopefully that volatility will blow off a bit.
