Wonderful aromatics on the nose (jasmine flowers, passionfruit), leading to a lively, citrussy palate. Finishes with a tiny hint of sweetness. Somehow the palate isn’t quite as exciting as the entrancing nose, but this is very enjoyable.
Exotic, perfumed nose of angelica root and passion flower, similarly exotic fruits on the palate, dancing acidity, superbly elegant and poised. Such a delicate pretty wine, but so focused and multi-dimensional too. Excellent.
Noticeable residual sugar which seems a little unbalanced in this wine. The nose is of ripe/bruised apple, the palate a bit unfocused and confused by the sweetness. Salty and almost harsh on the finish.
Superb concentration and balance. This is a big wine for Riesling but it’s beautifully carried by the racy acidity and the minerals. Spiced apple and mandarin fruit on the palate, quite aromatic nose. In the first flushes of youth but with this depth and weight this should just keep getting better.
Positively mosel-like aromas, with a slatey, limey nose just starting to show a whiff of petroleum. Soft and rather subtle on the palate, with ripe guava and passionfruit. Fine, citrussy finish, and showing a lovely restraint that expresses the character of this difficult vintage.
