Rounded, and feels hotter and heavier than Weininger’s other single vineyard Gemischter Satzes. Texturally correct, with a nice mineral expression, but missing the aromatics and the fruit that define the very best examples.
Complex and full bodied, with very generous, sweetish fruit but so much going on – hints of Gelber Muskateller’s aromatics, some spicy Riesling notes and loads of texture and saline freshness. A soupcon more acidity would have been welcome, but there is much to enjoy in this. Don’t wait.
Youthful and full of energy – white pepper and orchard fruits on the nose, tight and defined fruit on the palate. Texture is leesy but not over the top. There’s the tiniest hint of some aromatic varieties in this blend. Harmonious and enjoyable
Youthful and a bit sweaty on the nose. Some nice aromatic overtones – surely a bit of Gelber Muskateller in the blend, and a feeling of freshness and lift, despite the high ABV. Really typical, drinkable Gemischter Satz.
