This is a new section of the site which we’re still developing, apologies for any glitches. Over the next few weeks we’ll be adding thousands of tasting notes on a very wide range of wines. In some cases, main articles on the site will link to a group of tasting notes. Sometimes, we just taste interesting bottles that don’t warrant a whole article. You’ll find them here too.
Search for a wine by producer, wine name, grape variety, country or region – or just about anything else which appears on the label. Alternatively you can use the filters to hone in on specific areas.
Wines are given a rating from zero to five stars (in half star increments) where no stars represents execrable filth and five stars is akin to seeing god. We use the entire scale. Some publications or institutions require scoring out of 20 or 100 points. In these cases the original score is also included, and the star rating derived from it. (0 stars = 10/20, 5 stars = 20/20, 0 stars = 50/100, 5 stars = 96-100/100)
The vast majority of wines reviewed here fit into the natural wine paradigm, but there will be some exceptions. We’ll find a way of flagging those up in due course.
